PRODUCTION TEAM

Eureka Lewis (Writer/Director)

Eureka has performed in several productions- including (but not limited to): "For Colored Girls (Lady In Green), Home From Harlem (Spirit), "God's Trombones" (Marietta), "A Raisin In The Sun" (Beneatha), "Waiting In Line" (Carolyn De' Alexander), "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show" (Lil Bits) & "Herstory" (Eve).  She began performing at Wayne State University, at The Bonstelle Theater & Hillberry Studio Theater, respectively.  It was there she landed roles in "Tijean and His Brothers" & "Portraits In Black".  She's also written & Directed several plays (in her hometown of Detroit), including "Sorry If I Let You Down", "Finally Made It" & Aunt Salley's Remains" to name a selected few. "What They'll Remember" was performed in Virginia (2002 & 2005).  It's New York debut was 2014.  It was well received.  Audiences loved it!  Due to consistent requests...she's dusted off the script, added an additional scene, along with a new song (compliments of Chez)...& Voila!  It's back by popular demand!!!  

Andre Chez Lewis (Music Composer/Director)

Chez studied at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA).  He was the musical director for "The Eve of Jackie"- A tribute to Jackie Wilson- at Lincoln Center  (Starring Chester Gregory).  His Broadway Credits include: "Memphis The Musical" (both on Broadway & On Tour), "Motown the Musical", "Holler if Ya Hear Me" & "Dreamgirls" (On Tour).  He's a pianist/organist at The Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, he also travels frequently to perform with/for the choir.  He teaches private piano lessons, & receives great satisfaction in preparing youth for musical careers.  He believes artists should always be learning/growing.  For this reason, he studies consistently with jazz legend, Barry Harris.  Chez, was honored to receive the "Rising Star Award" for his work as a pianist, at the 41st Annual Audelco Awards for excellence in black theater.  He's happy to work with the talented cast of "What They'll Remember".  

Imani Meade (Assistant Director)

Imani loves theater and writing.  She's penned various types of material, including; spoken word/poetry, blogs and songs.  One of her standout pieces is entitled "The Last Jesus". Some of her work can be found on imaniyanni.weebly.com.  She is inspired by Eureka's writing & directing, especially since her plays all have a message.  Imani, worked on the production team of "What They'll Remember", during it's NY debut.

Rhonda Witherspoon (Stage Manager)

 

Rhonda is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University.  She's always had a passion for the arts.  She's performed in productions of "Raisin In the Sun", "Joe Turner's Come and Gone" & James Baldwin's "The Amen Corner".  In addition, she's worked in journalism.  She's also the owner of "Ahhsumm Cookie Catering Company" (in business for 6 years).  She's happy to be part of the production team for "What They'll Remember".  

Afiya Khali (Graphic Designer)

 

Afiya has her Bachelor of Business Administration in Design and Management from Parsons School of Design. She now works there as a web developer.  Before relocating to New York, she worked as a web  developer/graphic designer at Virginia Air & Space Center.  In addition, she's worked as a freelance designer, assisting students at Hampton University.  She makes her mark with a theater production, by lending her skills to "What They'll Remember".
